Four years ago if you would have told anyone that the market was going to take a plunge, new home buying and new home building would decease dramatically and the economy and communities (and by communities we mean people) would suffer as they had not yet seen in their lifetimes, they’d have thought you needed a rubber room. And it happened.
As in any challenging situation, there is usually a silver lining that can come from it. For us at Murray Insulation, it meant that the companies, who were not really committed to this industry and may not have had the heart for it, are no longer in it. Of course there are probably other reasons as well but from our perspective, we had no choice but to hang on and survive. Our company is a family business. Judy’s family started this business and now Tom and Judy are running it and running it well.
What does a good company do?
A good company puts customer service first. Murray Insulation knows how important getting great, not good, customer service is to homeowners and builders. Our reputation is built on the fact that we know what we are doing and that we check every insulation installation at the end of the job. A good company treats its employees well. The team we work with has been with us for a long time. We value them as team members and because they know this, they treat each one of our customers like they are treated.
A good company does the job right and with consistency. Insulation is only as effective as the application itself. We make sure that every possible cavity in your attic, basement, walls or ceiling has the proper amount of insulation and is properly applied. Good insulation not installed properly doesn’t help with energy efficiency at all. It’s like throwing a blanket in midair and it never comes down. It can’t help warm and comfort the person it was meant to cover.
A good company is part of the community. The Murray Family has been in the Northland for over 30 years. They support the local businesses, they participate with their local chamber and they stay local. As a small, local business themselves, they value and support other small businesses in their community whenever possible. Being a small, local business has served them well.
What does good insulation do?
Insulation helps a homeowner save money on their energy bills by creating a barrier between the outside walls or roof of your home and the inside temperature of your home so you can be comfortable without having to adjust your thermometer too much.
